The School of Art is excited to invite you to a series of public events happening across our three buildings in New Haven, with Wednesday events hosted as part of Interdepartmental Day!

All visitors are required to be fully vaccinated and boosted, and should be prepared to show proof of this if asked. Masks are strongly recommended, as per Yale University's capacity protocol management.

A friendly reminder to join us for our annual Open Studios event in April, featuring work from the departments of Graphic Design, Painting/Printmaking, Photography, and Sculpture.

Studios will be open to the public and are located across three buildings on Yale’s campus in downtown New Haven: 1156 Chapel Street, 353 Crown Street, and 36 Edgewood Avenue. Pre-registration is encouraged, but day-of registration will also be available at the door. Register to attend here.

All visitors must be fully vaccinated and boosted, and should be prepared to provide proof of vaccination/booster on request. Masks are strongly recommended and may be required in some spaces based on the University’s capacity and visitor policies. 

Events—satellite projects, screenings, performances, and workshops—are also being hosted across the School of Art as part of Open Studios. The full schedule of community-led programming will be made available through the School of Art’s public events calendar and on the 2023 Open Studios website, launching ahead of Open Studios weekend on Friday, April 14, 2023.

Spring 2023 thesis exhibitions are continuing apace, and we're excited to share that documentation of the 2023 Painting/Printmaking MFA exhibition, a signal urgent but breaking—exhibited as two groups—is available via the new thesis exhibition website and the School of Art's growing exhibitions archive.

Group 1 of a signal urgent but breaking was open to the Yale community from January 30 through February 6, 2023 and featured work by Alexandria Couch, Stephano Espinoza Galarza, Daniela Gomez Paz, Jonathan Herrera Soto, Soren Hope, Christopher Paul Jordan, Fiza Khatri, Estelle Maisonett, Tura Oliveira, Can Yağız, and Ang Ziqi Zhang.

The second half of a signal urgent but breaking was open to the Yale community February 15 through 22, 2023. Group 2 featured work by Emmanuel Amoakohene, Hunter Foster, Rina Goldfield, Nina Hartmann, Erick Alejandro Hernández, Natia Lemay, Phoebe Little, Maya Perry, Gabriela Rassi, Bryan Ali Sanchez, and María Vargas Aguilar.

Featuring Paul Bille, Filip Birkner, Samantha Callahan, Andrew Connors, Sarah Elawad, Osvald Landmark, M.C. Madrigal, Jisung Park, Yuseon Park, Kyle Richardson, Ainsley Romero, Lester Rosso, Junyi Shi, David Jon Walker, Yifan Wang, Cat Wentworth, and Avery Youngblood.
All visitors must be fully vaccinated and boosted. Proof of vaccination/booster is required. Masks are strongly recommended and may be required in the galleries at the discretion of the school during receptions based on capacity and visitor policies. 

Members of the public are also invited to visit the new thesis exhibition website, accessible at art.yale.edu/MFAThesis, where you can learn more about the individual artists and designers that make up the class of 2023.
